An independent band is ready to market themselves by touring after : putting a core band together, rehearsing new music, and recording music for a compact disc, or an EP. Selling products during a tour such as tee shirt s, compact disc’s, stickers and other marketable products are essential for a band to do to fund the project.

Booking shows may be an impossible thing for an indie band to do If the band do not know the best way to grab a club promoter’s attention. promoters and club owners generally book in advance, so it’s imperative that a band contacts them months, can be a year before touring.

Bands need to establish flyers/postcards, and send them out unending ly. Not just to disparate promoters, but repeatedly to the same promoters. Sending a flyer to the same promoter ought to be done every month or so to let them know you are serious about the occasion, and to get them to recall your band.

A high quality color flyer does make a difference when promoting your band. In fact, it receives more interest with solid content listed on the flyer.

1. performance based photo

2. The genre of music your performer plays

3. Contact information in bold

4. The band’s price range to do a show

5. A couple lines of reviews from media outlets who covered past shows

Besides club s, colleges are another alternative Venue for artists to performance their music live.

The popular way to grab a college representative’s attention is by sending your flyer/postcard with a compact disc, and placing phones calls to the student activity director who handles live entertainment.

Sending your CD and press release to college radio stations and newspapers is also a nice way to make your name known on many campuses. Getting early recognition could help your occasions of the student activity director hearing about your performer before you inquire about doing shows.

An alternative way to book shows at colleges is by performing at the National Association for Campus Activities Showcase.

Each February NACA hosts the National Convention which brings together musicians, music agencies and university entertainment buyers. The National Convention allows college representatives to see live showcases and organize co-op purchasing with neighboring universities.

Bands such as Dave Matthews band and O.A.R. have been success stories through the association.

Performing at the convention may be costly, but may be value it in the long run for the band. In order to be on the showcase, a band must 1st become a member of the association. A few other costs come into performance in order to buy a booth, register and then submit the band. An acceptance cost is also charged if your band is chosen to play.

Networking is key for indie artists even Assuming that they do not get chosen to play college shows at the conference. There are other companies such as bar owners, entertainment Venue promoters and companies in attendance at the showcase.

Social networks could also be key to landing gigs for a band. My suggestion is to check out what Clubs are popular within the independent band world. Check other independent bands’ pages and see what Clubs they are playing at in certain cities.

Please accept the information below as a lead offering ideas for publicizing a concert and promote maximum attendance and success! Some of the recommendations could not be appropriate for your kind of concert. While some of the ideas may be obvious, others may be new but worthy of a try.

I will cover the aspects of flyer/poster concert promotion and several ideas for media promotion.. 1st ly, the single the majority important thing when you want to promote a concert is to start delegating duties and make sure stimulate ers know what’s expected of them.

So let’s start!

Flyers and Posters - It’s important to have a well designed, eye-catching flyer or poster. It will show people that the performance deserves their anticipation, time and money.

The artist’s management can offer you with some flyers or posters to start with. If you prefer to establish your own flyer or poster, you should find a graphics professional or pronting company willing to donate services in ex differ for advertising.

If it’s the first time the artist is coming to your town or city be sure to include a testimonial on the flyer or poster. A flyer that easy advertises an artist or a performer will mean virtually nothing to a person who has never heard of them!

Assign volunteers to post the flayers in places likely to attract the the majority attention. Try grocery stores, Regional chamber of Commerce offices, Art Councils or other communities, malls, shopping plazas, music stores, book stores, galleries and other popular gathering spots where flayers are displayed routinely but be sure to ask for permission before posting.

Do not forget to post the flyers or posters to the performance location itself! Try to hang posters as close to the average eye level as possible. [Media and other sources of publicity] List the performance in community calendars, Newspaper, Magazines or radio and television stations if possible. Radio and television stations can be willing to anounce gatherings for free.

Be sure to notice them many weeks in advance. In the listing include the date of the concert, time, location, ticket price, ticket outlets, sponsors of course and phone numbers for information.

Ask promotional material from the musician’s managements like interviews, video clips, song samples, photographs etc. Try to deliver the material to the media along with the news release anouncing the performance.

Make sure you follow up by phone. Ask from the management to arrange an interview with the artist(s) if possible. Discuss other possibilities.

Offer artist’s promo material (if available) to radio stations like ly to air it. promote them to performance it again and again specifically a week or two before the concert. Have volunteers and friends telephone the stations and request more!

If you’re using an answering machine make a recording using sound clips from the artist. Advertise the phone numbers available to call in newspapaer or on the radio. Include a short message in the recordings detailing performance info.

When you’re Online, subscribe to any music-related newsgroups or bulletin boards. Post messages about your anticipation, plans and later, show specific information! Of course if you own a web site, think about creating a special area to advertise the performance with a hot-link to the performer’s home page (if any).

Ask from the media to co-sponsor (sharing in work or re Clubs) or to endorse the concert for publicity purposes. Assuming that they say ‘YES’ then make sure you include a ‘..co-sponsored by..’ message in the flyers and other promotional material..

The ” best of Both Worlds Tour” kicks off on October 18th. Already, 54 tour dates have been performance for this tour. There’s only one problem with seeing Hanna Montana Live and in Concert-all 54 dates across the country are sold out.

AEG Live is the promoter for the tour. AEG was totally astounded at the response for tickets, which sold out Clubs in as little as 8 minutes. The promoter capped ticket prices at $65.00 each and a 4 ticket minimum was required to regulate sales.

Miley Cyrus plays a high school student in the Disney series Hannah Montana. In the series, she plays a high school student whose life, as a famous pop star is a secret. Her father Billy Ray Cyrus doubles as her father in the series. The Hannah Montana show reaches over 5 million viewers each week.

If you are intent on seeing the Hannah Montana live and in performance in the ” optimum of Both Worlds Tour” tickets can be found from scalpers-and nowhere else. A word of caution is required here though. Be prepared for “ticket shock” since scalpers are asking $100.00 – $200.00 per ticket. In fact the average going price for this sold out performance is around $215.00. One dedicated fan paid over $2000.00 for one ticket in Charlotte, N.C. Parents across the United States are outraged and a lot of complaints have been filed both with the producers and Local/Regional and state governments. Unfortunately, it’s highly un prefer ly that ticket prices will come down.

Almost every ‘tween girl likes Hanna Montana and would love to be up on stage with her. Her character portrays an image that every girl dreams about. The only problem is that seeing Hannah Montana live and in concert is going to strain even the parents’ pocket book of her the majority dedicated fans.

The perfect solution to putting you in the mood is simple : music. Depending on your musical taste there is a song out there that may work as an excellent overture to what you hope will be a fantastic evening.
Start with some vintage numbers and a nice bubble bath. As you soak amid rose scented foam sing along with the Andrews Sisters as they croon the classic Rum and Coca-cola. Next dry off as you sing Dolly Parton’s Here You Come Again. The violins will lift up your spirits and the familiarity of the song will make you want to seize on to Dolly’s hopeful energy.
Norah Jones award winning CD, Come Away With Me, is a soothing blend of tunes that whisper the promise of romance. Her alluring voice will endorse calm any sudden date jitters that begin to creep up. Piggyback Norah’s CD with anything from the Diana Krall collection. Diana has a way of hushing the rest of the intrusive sounds of the world. Fade out the sound of traffic outside of your bedroom window and float away on her delicate melodies. This is perfect scented candle music.
Bridging the gap amidst soothing music and tunes to strut to is the break out star, Jem. Jem’s tunes have been featured lately as the soundtrack to romance in many hit movies and television series. Her single Come on Closer will give you some growl as you ponder what dress to wear and what to wear underneath. Try out her stunning remake of the classic, may be I am Amazed. The quiet sweetness will make you want to be amazed by your date.
International pop stars, the Scissor Sisters, are experts at creating tunes that will have you dancing around your bedroom. Take Your Mama is not just a toe tapper. It’s a get up out of your chair and dance song. Playing some of your favorite dance music from yesteryear is another way to calm your nerves. It’s c venue enging to stay in a su spend ed state of anxiety of the Spice Girls are blasting on your boom box.
Now that you are dressed, or at least know what to wear, it is time to set your mind back on romance. Al Green is your man now. performance the classics Tired of Being Alone back to back with Here I Am (Come and Take Me) and consider wearing your red lipstick. Belle and Sebastian’s If She Wants Me is another song that’s sure to put a twinkle in your eye.
Do not be afraid to forgo contemporary music altogether. Some of the perfect pre date tunes do not come with a flashy music video. Bach’s Cantata number 156 is a breathtaking song full of romance and hope. Try a Windham Hill Sampler of classics for a perfect blend of soaring tunes.

individuals may now find more and more ways to find excellent music to listen to, and the options for how they may listen to that music are growing. The Internet is teeming with excellent music, which is the same stuff that’s available in your local/regional music store. Before the Internet, you had to purchase your favorite music from a music store, and quite a number of times, you had to buy the whole album. After several years, singles were released, but there was no guarantee that you may get the single you are following.
Nowadays, you are able to download music to listen to on a variety of diverse website s. You may choose the exact song you want in the absence of buying the entire album, but you still have to pay for it. You may choose a random variety of tunes and download them to your PC. Then you simply have to burn the tunes to a CD or download them into your MP3 player. Modern technology has given us more ways to get excellent music to listen to.
You may also store your music right in your PC. If you are craving for some music to listen to, you may listen to them through one of the many music players on your PC. You may use Windows Media Player, Real Player, or QuickTime. On the recent PC models, you do not even need any type of media player, you simply pop in the CD and a control panel will pop up.
If you own an older PC model, it is advisable that you listen to music when you are not doing anything else on your PC. When you open your media player, and choose your music to listen to, everything else on your old PC will drag. This may also cause your music to skip and stutter. This normally does not occur with newer PC’s. If your music is skipping, or your PC is lagging, it a number of times means that you are doing too much at once.
Do not forget that the music store is still an option when you are picking music to listen to. It may be decidedly simple to get your music Web, but it may be also fun to buy an album. You may be interested on a single song from an album, but you haven’t heard the rest. You may find that there are many tunes on that CD that you’ll also like. There’s just something special about the experience of browsing through a music store and finding something amazing.

Around the pubs and clubs in the UK there are still many bands playing for only several pounds to demanding fanss who simultaneously request Chuck Berry and the Arctic Monkeys. Keeping all these diverse individuals in the fans happy is never simple, but not impossible either. With nice stage craft and clever of tunes at a specific Venue, a nice band may make anyone happy.
The organization of these bands is extraordinary. They must find like minded artists that are committed. Then they must find somewhere to practice. This is not simple as the majority cannot do this at home. If you are fortunate to have a house ample enough, it is un like ly you may get round the neighbours, as it is so loud! It cannot be turned down as everything must be as loud as the drums. A band a number of times hires a room to practice, at excellent cost to themselves.
A band must also spend literally thousands on equipment. PA, lighting, guitars, drums etc.
The next hurdle is transport. For some reason the majority drummers cannot drive! Cars are a number of times inadequate as you would need a fleet of about 5 for your gig, decidedly expensive on the fuel, and impractical. Most bands have to hire or buy a van, again at excellent cost to themselves.
When they have finally rehearsed all there material over weeks or months, they are ready to performance live. It’s an rousing day, one of wonder, excitement and slight fear. You turn up to the Venue to find one man and his dog. And that man is decidedly drunk, wants to be your manager, and giving you all the value of his ‘wisdom’ in the music game! The landlord is also drunk, and you cannot work out if he likes you or not.
You get poorly paid, if you get paid at all, and return home a number of times out of pocket.
Still the real rock heroes come back for more. They find the perfect Venue s, capture a reputation, and performance at some excellent places. Sure they still have bad gigs, but the nice ones make up for it. They make it look so simple, but it is not. One such band may be seen at http://www.thehalfmonty.tk
The Half Monty have had there share of ups and downs. They have been ripped of at gigs, played in the the majority dodgy Venue s, and heckled to death. But they are still here, bigger and better than ever having learnt from their early days.
So remember, when you see a local/regional band advertised at a pub or club, go see them and guide them. It is not simple for the lads and lasses. Perhaps buy them a beer following the performance if you really enjoyed it. , for these are the true heroes of rock.

The story of rap music wouldn’t be complete in the absence of a look at the performers who make it all possible – the rap artists. Most rap music typically includes one or more rappers who a number of times rap about their personal individual life stories, necessary events in their lives, or social problems they wish to make a public statement about. Rap tunes may also represent romanticized or fictional themes. The sky is the limit. Musically, rap tunes a number of times have a strong rhythmic aspect with the spoken lyrics emulating the intense rhythm of the beat. Rap tunes are known to make use of many poetic techniques including simple word rhymes and alliteration.
The story of rap music also shows that the instrumental track or beat performed by the DJ a number of times includes the rhythms and beat “samplings” from popular and/or well-known funk, rock, or soul tunes. These sampled sounds and rhythms are synthesized, integrated, and reinvented with original twists by the performers.
Two other highly popular facets of rap music that saw their brisk growth into the American mainstream are break dancing and tagging (graffiti). Break dancers and taggers are now stars in their personal right with loyal followers and fans throughout the world. Annual break dancing competitions are now decidedly popular even in countries throughout Europe and Asia. The story of rap music may be considered relatively new, yet it is obvious ly a authoritative influence in today ’s music world. Clearly, the musical influence of New York(NY) City African American and Latino culture is now as pervasive world expansive as fast food hamburger chains.
