Who is Chris Brown???

Well if you do not know who Chris Brown is then you haven’t been listening to Rythm & Blues (R&B) radio lately and you definitely haven’t be considering some of the latest movies. Chris Brown is tarring up the charts with songs like “Gimme That”, “Run It” and “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” just to name several. But who’s the real Chris Brown.

Chris Browns real birth name is Christopher Maurice Brown. Born and raised in a small town in Virginia call Tappahannock. He is one of two kids. musicians that his parents played on the radio influenced Brown. These musicians include Michael Jackson and Sam Cooke.

Brown has been a natural dancer since the age of two. But as a Vocalist, Brown did not realize his talent until much later as he turn 11. Before then Brown aspired to become a rapper.

A Local/Regional production team who happened to visit his father’s petrol station searching for new skill found Brown. Since then brown began his recording career by moving to New York(NY) and staying there for two years as he recorded his first album.

Chris Brown has since become a multi-platinum recording musician as well as a rising movie star.

Brown’s film career has been extensive for such a short amount of time. Brown has made appearances on UPN’s One on One and The-N’s The Brandon T. Jackson Show on its pilot episode. In addition, Brown landed a small role as a performer geek in the fourth season of FOX’s The O.C. in January 2007. Originally scheduled to appear in eight episodes, it has been cut to only three, so that Brown could work on his second studio album. Brown then made his film debut in the dance movie Stomp The Yard, alongside Ne-Yo, Meagan Good and Columbus Short in January 2007. According to Total Request Live, Brown began filming for his second film entitled This Christmas, a holiday family members drama starring Nia Long. He is  set to star in his first leading role in a basketball film flick called Phenom where he will performance a high-school baller who takes on his father’s basketball team in the NBA playoffs.

The tour actually starts off June 4-5 in Wantagh, N.Y., where the band will play shows at the Nikon Theatre at Jones Beach. Dates currently end June 20-21 at Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wis.  The news leaked out initially on the livenation.com website and then it was pulled back and the group announced the dates the next day officially.

There is also a documentary in the works which is a fan-based project about Phish Fan’s that grew up with the band in the 70’s and 80’s.  It will focus on the band’s touring from 1984-2004 and how it  influenced the life of those fans.   Sounds really interesting.  You can get early tickets for their tour at Phish.com
