The gathering industry world wide is a multi-billion dollar industry. In now’s gathering market, the competition in the entertainment industry is growing rapidly. performer and artist promotion has become a meaningful business in the gatherings market.

Here is a simple checklist for effective band promotion, if you want to gain some of the company entertainment and marriage entertainment party market:

Band Promotion Checklist

• A catchy, relevant and memorable name always advocate s. It is worth putting time into choosing a name that spells out what you do.

• A professionally recorded demo either live or studio. If your demo doesn’t sound great, then you can as well give up! Clients do have ears and they can lack the imagination to ‘picture’ what you can sound like.

• A professional designer website is a must these days. Cheesy websites with flashing backgrounds and banners are out. A MySpace.com page is no place to direct a potential corporate client in my opinion.

• (TASK: contemplate a corporation that you would prefer to become a client of yours. Now go to their web site and have a look. That is what their benchmark is and that is what their event and marketing staff are looking for.) Invest in a quality web site for performer promotion!

• A picture paints a 1000 words. A excellent photo is mandatory. Locate a professional photographer and get some shots taken for your performer promotion.

• Biographies are something that you need to devote some time to writing and re-writing for nice band promotion. You need to mention your accolades and achievements, while likewise being concise and to the point. Don’t be afraid to ‘brag’ a little. Musicians are generally coy or modest in this area and need to encourage themselves a little bit more assertively.

• A professional video may really get potential clients particularly interested in your band. Occasionally they may call and book you just on the strength of your video. Once again, if you’re meaningful about band promotion, you really need to give your clients this impression. Invest!

• Get some advertising. Advertising may take a lot of forms. A great deal of entertainment bookings are transacted Internet. Magazines, yellow pages, newspapers may be effective although niche directories which are optimised for search engine visibility may be surprisingly fee effective. You may learn google advertising secrets through certain websites on the Web. Web marketing is an artform in itself, so be patient and get good advice.

• Posters, flyers, postcards, direct mail, telemarketing and networking are all other forms of band promotion you can definitely benefit investigation.

Major Overlooked band Promotional Ideas

I am going to lay out a couple of easy -to-use performer promotional suggestions for you…

Successful band Promotions Establish With Your Marketing Abilities

Tricks To Selling More CD’s At performances

1st make sure at every performance you are placing your CD sales table in the correct place. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen artists who session up their CD sales table in the darkest corner of the Venue.

Think about it for a moment…If you were at a Venue and listening to a band. Then, out of the corner of your eye… You happen to see a table performance up with CD’s for sale. Except, it’s in the corner, and away from all the action at the Venue…Would you go check it out, or even think about it?

When you get performances at a new Club the 1st thing you must do is scope out the place for the the majority strategic spots available for your compact disc sales table. Heck, there are some artists that set up their table right in front of the stage! Yet another great place for set ting up your compact disc sales table is by the entrance to the bathroom of the Club…I know it may sound strange, but contemplate it. Everyone there is bound to pass by your compact disc’s, and if you’ve one of your “Street Team” members selling compact disc’s at the table. Then, recruit another “Street Team” member to literally walk straight up to individuals asking them “Do You Have The compact disc Yet?” at the Club while you’re playing – Your compact disc sales will go through the roof!

Just be sure to have the one walking around lead the individuals who say that want to buy your CD straight to the CD sales table. This will allow them to go straight back into the crowd to gather more listeners for you!

Collecting Fan Email Addresses

Likewise make sure you make it easy for people to leave email addresses at your compact disc sales table. Even better, would be to get people to give you the email in the middle of the gig. You can make up an “Email Song” then have an individual pass around a guest book where everybody leaves their email address.

If you’re not gigging your only option is to visit chat rooms and forums and talk to people and collect email addresses. Why collect all of these email addresses? simple… You will be strating a “Band Newsletter” to stay in touch with your potential listeners, and compact disc buyers!

The venue features artists from different genres and is relatively small with a downstair and an upstairs for viewing down on the stage. I Have seen legendary guitar man and Dave Matthews collaborater Tim Reynolds, American Idol runner-up Bo Bice, Billy Bob Thornton, Sister Hazel, and has Hoobastank, and Red Jumpsuit apparatus coming in this weekend. I tend to like these intimate venue where you can right in front of the stage as well as watching the show from the bar across the way. On top of that it has a great bar upstairs that allows you to fuel up and watch the show over the railing down below.

A great place to see a show and you can visit their site at www.Freebirdlive.com and check out their upcoming shows. This has become a staple at the beaches with top flight talent and great local bands too. Btw, good drink specials that you can partake in, but good to have a designated driver.

Live Music Venue- Easy Street Records in Seattle has two locations with one in Queen Anne and one in West Seattle and a vibrant online portal for selling music. Easy Street saw the challenges ahead in the music business and created a very unique model. The model is a coffee bar, diner style food, music retail, web presence and live in-store events. If you haven’t seen a live performance at Easy Street it is definetly worth checking out. Here is one of the shows with up and comer Ingrid Michaelson doing a webcast recently.

Michaelson is just one of the great artists that they get through Easy Street. She is a New York-based indie-pop singer-songwriter, probably best known for her single “The Way I Am.” Her music has been featured in episodes of several popular television shows, including Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill, as well as in Old Navy’s Fall 2007 Fair Isle advertising campaign. She has built quite a following with over 135,000 friends on Myspace and touring regularly.

Some of the artists that have been through there over the years include Mudhoney, Rocket from The Crypt, Luna, Jim White, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and the Presidents of the United States of America amongst others. Very cool in-store experience and one of my personal favorite venues.

Live Music – HMV has decided to add live shows to their business model on the heels of Virgin Megastores announcing they will close their store in the first quarter of 2009 in Times Square. The British retailer will partner with concert venue operator MAMA and take ownership of 11 mid to large size live music venues. The venues include the Hammersmith Apollo in London and the Picture House in Edinburgh. With CD sales plummeting, HMV is trying to get in the lucrative area of live touring. Live touring is a 1.5 billion dollar business in Britain alone and it ultimately gives them a “360″ type of deal. They will now be able to sell their customers tickets, merchandise, Cd’s, videogames and it will be like one stop shopping.

On top of that HMV recently bought 14 stores from rival Zawi that has collapsed and is in bankruptcy. It appears to be a very good move for them as they needed a re-structuring of their model as the music business has shifted away from the CD and more towards the live touring. With this model they will be able to offset the losses with the part of the business that is really working.

Time will tell whether this was a good move, but clearly HMV had to make a move or they were going to be extinct shortly.

It is based in Lafayette, Louisianna and was established in 2002. It has become one of world’s premier venues for roots music and is a great place to meet all kinds of people. You might rub elbows with politicians, artists, community organizations, or world travelers that happen to be crashing in Lafayette for the evening.

PG3 turned me on the spot when he was visiting recently and you need to check it out next time you are in the area. You can get a flavor for it online as they stream live many of the shows from there on a weekly basis, but it can’t replace being there in person. One great act I saw recently online was Grammy nominee Cedric Watson, who is nominated for best Cajun/Zydeco album of the year.

LIVE MUSIC VENUE of note:

The Triple Door is one of the best Live music Venues in the greater Seattle area and in the United States. They have incredible talent performing there nightly and have great cuisine from China and Southeast Asia.

The Mainstage is The Triple Door’s centerpiece. Restored and updated from the bones of the historic Embassy Theatre, this 300-seat performance space is at once timeless and modern. The classic look of the gold-framed, red-curtained stage blends seamlessly with the contemporary, sleek, uncluttered array of half-moon booths and free-standing tables.

Arranged in tiers, the Mainstage provides clear sight lines from every seat. The intimate dimensions mean that even the late arriver to a sold-out show is no more than 35 paces from the stage. And for those get-up-out-of-your-seat acts, the tables directly in front of the stage can be cleared to make way for a dance floor.

Every particular of the Mainstage—in interior design, sound and lighting—is aimed at making the show come alive for the audience. Even the free-standing chairs used in the theatre have a special quality: they’re easy to rock in time with the music.

The Mainstage is also well-equipped for special functions, from large-scale parties to corporate or media events. And, of course, there is a fully-appointed kitchen—featuring a Wild Ginger-inspired menu—and complete service bar for all food and beverage requirements.

You can check out there upcoming events for live music and entertainment on their calendar. BTW, if you are in the greater Seattle area make sure to stop by:
