Key West has always been a hot spot for live music. When tourists finally get to the end of the road following making the long trek down the Keys, it does something to their psyche. Normally respectable citizens of the mainland tend to breathe in the free air of the tropics and start doing some pretty uncharacteristic things – things like drinking rum runners and stripping down to barely perceptible clothes. And they naturally congregate on Duvall Street, where the local/regional clubs are happy to contribute to the anything-goes atmosphere. Live music pours out of nearly every bar.
The music leans heavily towards a Jimmy Buffett, island-flavored sound, and you are sure to hear “Brown-Eyed Girl” at least ten times a night from ten diverse club s. And that’s as it ought to be, because anyone is a number of times in an island kinda mood. But there is much more to be found. You may hear jazz, reggae, hard rock and blues, from places like Rick’s, Sloppy Joe’s, The Bull, La Concha, The Hog’s Breath, and, if you do not mind walking an extra ten blocks or so, Jimmy Buffett’s own Margaritaville Cafe. What makes the whole scene so appealing is that the majority of the clubs are open to the outside, and all this music makes a potent gumbo of sound in the humid air as you walk down the street.
Long ago, before there was ever a road to Key West, the majority of the town was populated by pirates, who endorse ed to ‘salvage’ nices from ships that were wrecked on the reefs because a person had switched the signal lights around. Everyone knew who switched those lights in the 1st place, of course. But salvaging was a tempting, lucrative profession in those days. That outlaw spirit still lives in Key West, and it may be heard in the music of performers in the clubs and from street performers on nearly every block.
I individual ly got to experience heal thy doses of Key West music every April for 15 years, when I played at Sloppy Joe’s with the duo Faust and Lewis.
We developed our music and comedy act on that famous stage, and wrote gobs of funny tunes about life in the islands. all of us always did the 5-9 PM shift, so following our show there was plenty of time to do the Duvall Crawl and check out the other acts in town. I became a excellent fan of Hugo Duarte, who was performing at the Hog’s Breath Saloon late one night in early April. It was uncharacteristically cool that night, with the temperature all the way down in the low 60’s, but my wife and I braved the chill to listen to Hugo for over an hour. His original tunes are nearly perfect, and tell excellent stories about life in the islands, and about ship captains heading somewhere down south.
I also got to know Terry Cassidy, who still does following noons at Sloppy Joe’s. He adds a smooth, bluegrass feel to his island music, and his song “Hooked On the simple Life” just about sums up the attitude of the local/regional s.
Pete and Wayne currently handle the 5-9 shift at Sloppy’s, and you may be sure they are continuing the “What Me Worry?” attitude down there, with their adult humor and tunes.
There are so many more artists that have made a real splash on the Key West scene. Pat Dailey, the legend of Lake Erie, has been performing in February and March at Sloppy Joe’s for over twenty years. Bill Wharton, The Sauce Boss, one of the finest blues players I have ever seen, also makes hot sauce during his shows and serves it up in gumbo to individuals who stay around until the end. He makes regular appearances at Margaritaville. Ben Harrison, who with his wife Helen own Harrison Gallery, is also a renowned singer-songwriter who puts on mini operas about some of the colorful characters in Key West history, including a guy who kept his wife’s body in his parlor for years following she died.
All of us who have performed and written tunes about Key West owe a tremendous debt to Shel Silverstein, who lived in Key West until his death several years ago. Shel wrote many famous tunes, including “The Unicorn Song,” and “Cover of the Rolling Stone,” as well as countless award-winning children ’s books, including “Where the Sidewalk Ends.” He generously gave of his time and skills to mentor songwriters that made their way to Key West. I individual ly spent an following noon at his house, and I knew I was truly in the presence of greatness.
I recently did a weekend back at Sloppy Joe’s for the 1st time in four years. You may rest assured that the music and fun continue on, as vibrant as ever. may be it is the gulf breeze. may be it is the rum runners. Whatever it is, I hope it goes on forever.

William Shakespeare has well said ” He who hath no music in him is fit for treasons and spoils.” This statement looks so true and it decidedly right in its own sense. In the early modernist era, a type of music known as the Jazz music went on to become pretty popular and it is popular still. The Jazz music is marked by the incoherence of words and music. There’s no sense of music and it looks more like a cacophony. Still, Jazz music gained momentum and it became one of the the majority popular style of music in those days. And the rest is history. Jazz music, till date is one of the the majority popular style of singing and you would find many patrons of Jazz music. Let us acquaint ourselves with the story of the Jazz music .
The early 20th century was marked by sorrow, dilemma and depression. With the death of queen Victoria in 1901, the Edwardian Era began which was a gloomy phase in the history. Then the second half of 20th century witnessed an immense sense of isolation and alienation with modernism and the World War I. Thomas Stern Eliot refers to the coherence of the Jazz music in so much incoherent world. The time, when everything seem to go wrong and nothing was in place, Jazz music became the soul of music and reflected the cacophony of the times. Again, World War II sabotaged the values and ethics of humanity and the human suffering was beyond endurance. Then the excellent economic depression guide to sadness and material loss. Then the advent of post modernism, the Jazz music had become so much in sync with the times that it became the voice of the deserted humanity and hapless individuals.
You may find some of the perfect Jazz music CDs on Web and find some of the famous music of your choice. From Robert Wyatt to Amy Winehouse, Jonie Mitchell to James Morrison, find out more about the music and its relevance! When you need your choice st jazz music CD, consider Internet as your perfect option!

Different styles of music have diverse “sounds.” all of us can all pretty much agree on that point. By way of example, Jazz uses seventh chords al the majority exclusively. This, and the type of chord progressions used in Jazz gives it its unique flavor. But what about new age music? Does it have it is own special ingredients? Yes it does.
Now, there are no hard and fast rules here but for the the majority part, new age music is a consonant music. That’s, there is little or noharshness going on in the music. No Saxes wailing and what not. Having said that all of us can eliminate the majority of the tense jazz chords and their voicing. So what are all of us left with? Mostly Major and minor chords based on the regular scales and the modes. The chord progressions are simple r and a number of times start on the l chord. No ll-V-l progressions here.
What about melody? In jazz, all of us have a soloist who a number of times plays many chromatic notes. This is rare in new age music because it would create dissonance. New age melodies tend to be softer and more on the spiritual side. Solos, Assuming that the re are any, are not so much concerned with the expression of the self than they are with letting the music express itself. A subtle but decidedly necessary distinction. Jazz players may have some ego invested in their performance. New age artists learn to let the music performance them. They learn to become a channel for the music itself allowing it to speak through them. Of course, I am not saying that this cannot happen in Jazz, but, just watch a Jazz performer and you’ll see what I mean.
Last but not least is rhythm. Let’s do a comparison/contrast amidst Jazz and New Age music. Jazz has a definite discernible rhythm. It’s what makes Jazz Jazz. New age music may have a pattern or an underlying rhythm to the music. It may be used to create trance like states in the listener. Drums are a number of times a part of Jazz music. Percussion is mostly absent from the New Age sound simply because it wouldn’t add to the atmosphere the majority New Age artists create. Timing is decidedly necessary to the Jazz artist. The soloist has the freedom to performance whatever he wants as long as he maintains the meter and stays in time. New Age music is more elastic in that timing is there, but is not a master of the player. The New Age player may disregard time altogether. Just listen to Zen flute music as a nice example of this.
Now, what does all this mean for the aspiring New Age artist? A couple of nice things. It means that there is a definite new age “sound” out there. That it is here to stay and that individuals like and need to hear it. And it means that there are some guidelines out there for what defines the meaning of New Age music.

Music is said to be the food of the soul. There’s nothing more persuasive and pleasing than nice music. Soothing music heals the mind. No entertainment is complete in the absence of music. Playing of your favorite music and tunes instantly various your tension filled mind to a more relaxed and serene state of mind.
Though individuals may listen to tunes and music on stereo systems and walkmans, however, they do not think twice before lining up for Live Music Concerts the reason – passion. It’s the power of passion that attracts them to see the stars perform in person and live. nothing beats it.
Live music is also prefer red at events and events. Live music entertainment consists of classical music, Jazz, Swing, World music, period music of 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and the 90’s and performed by artists who haven’t made it big. Classical music consists of quintet, quartet, trio, duo and solo. concert of live music may be given on any instrument as a piano, guitar, keyboard, cello, harpoon, flute, trumpet, saxophone and the jazz set.
Whether it is a birthday event, wedding party, a private event or a corporate event, live music is required if you are not employing a DJ to mix tunes for you. Even Assuming that the re is a DJ, live music is not a bad idea. Nearly every city and town in the U.S. has bands that perform live music. The choice of tunes and music may be limited with a Live Music Concert, but it is the limited selected tunes and music, which makes the band endearing to individuals. DJs would charge 25 percent – 50 percent of what a live music performing band charges. Still, the allure of live music is something that’s compelling if one may afford it. Some live music performing bands capture and reproduce the tone of music that were not recorded properly by the unsophisticated recording machines of the 50‘s and the 60’s.
A DJ may mix tunes to offer you the highest quality music entertainment. What needs to be done though is that you ought to give the DJ a list of your prefer red song long before the event. That gives the DJ time to arrange the CDs for you. The variety of music becomes enhanced when a DJ plays CD s. A sudden request from the guest also may be honored by the DJ and the song may be played. Most DJs come prepared with a number of CDs to meet immediate requests.
The success of any event depends on the music entertainment. Assuming that the attendees hear the music they enjoy your event will be a success.

Pop music may include elements of rock, hip hop, reggae, dance, R&B, jazz, electronic, and at times folk music and numerous other styles. Pop music performers typically make use of state-of-the-art technology and recording studios to achieve the sound they want, and record producers may have a heavy influence. Pop music generally uses a simple, memorable melody and emphasizes the rhythm, a number of times with syncopation, and stripped down to a basic riff or loop which repeats throughout much of the song. Pop music is a number of times criticized for being overly simple and repetitive.
Popular
Popular music is music belonging to any of a number of musical styles that are accessible to the general public and are distributed by one or more of the mass media. Popular music is music that is not something else ( a number of times ‘folk’ or ‘art’ music). Popular music is associated with (produced for or by) a specific social group. Popular music is distributed by mass media and/or in a mass market. Popular music is also rarely entirely instrumental. Popular music is not really about ‘being heard’, but rather about ‘being heard again’; and ‘being heard again and again and again’ is what really popular music is really about. Pop is contemporary music and a common type of popular music (distinguished from classical or art music and from folk music).
The term popular music does not refer especially to a single genre or sound, and its meaning is diverse depending on the time and place. Within popular music, “pop music” is a number of times distinguished from other sub genres by stylistic traits such as a danceable rhythm or beat, simple melodies and a repeating structure. The expansive appeal of pop music is seen to distinguish it from more specific categories of popular music, and pop music performers and recordings are among the perfect -selling and the majority expansive ly known in many regions of the world. The development of recording methods is seen as a major influence on the sound of pop, distinguishing it from classical music and jazz, as well as from some categories of popular music which may seek a more “natural” sound.
Album
In the recorded music era, the single (a single song) and the album (a collection of tunes ) are the usual methods of distributing pop music. Notable highlights for pop music in the 1980s are Michael Jackson’s second Epic label release, Thriller, which went on to become the perfect -selling album of all time. Jackson was the the majority successful musician of the 80s, spanning nine #1 singles in the U.S. alone during that decade, and selling over 133 million copies with only two albums — Thriller, and its follow-up Bad.
Pop music in the 1980s was heavily influenced by an electronic sound with synthesizers and drum machines, and dance type music. Pop music, on the other hand, has primarily come into usage to describe music that evolved out of the rock ‘n roll revolution of the mid-1950’s and continues in a definable path to today. Pop music may range from the highly creative, iconoclastic or virtuosic to simple and downright dumb.

This is a individual opinion and accordingly, I do not want any hate mail from Country Western fans, which I know are fanatical and omnipresent. I do have my favorite s, from a chauvinistic man’s point of view. I think that Shania Twain and Faith Hill are sexy and I enjoy several of their videos plus some of their tunes. But is it because they’re ample country western stars? No way. I have a problem listening to the majority of the Country Western stuff because it all is beginning to sound the same. I cannot tell a Randy Travis, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith or Alan Jackson song apart if my life depended on it.
I grew up on the Jersey shore and many of you may, accordingly, think I am unqualified to make such a judgment. But hold on. I have spent the final 30 years in Arizona. Does it get more country or western than that? You know, the home of Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and where the ‘Little House on the Prairie’ was filmed.
So I am a transplant with an attitude. Do not get me wrong, because I have given it a try. My late wife was from West Virginia and, during her mid-life crisis, began playing Country Western music continuously for five years. all of us had all the CD ’s, radio stations on preset, and even watched the Country Western awards on television. I may recognize all the ample names, the latest hits, and who was new to the scene. Through it all, I really tried to enjoy the sound, for her sake. But, eventually, I wandered back to my classic rock and roll, jazz, or blues.
I performance the harmonica and keyboard and have oodles of sheet music. I have attempted to performance a few of the recent Country Western popular numbers, but to no avail. I have several of the older Country Western classics that have crept into mainstream by Johnny Cash and Ernie Ford, but they are few and far amidst. The current tunes have become a formula that’s fodder for Jeff Foxworthy and his ilk. According to individuals like him, it goes like this:
You start with a sad premise. You’ve lost your: (fill in the blank) i.e., girl, dog, choose up truck. They were your 1st : love, companion, way of freedom. You remember their: smiles, wagging tail, leather seats. You wish you may, once again, feel their: hair, fur, gun rack. You really miss their: smell, smell, smell. You would do anything to get them back: tell her you love her, rub her cute little tummy, (or did I have those reversed?) hose her engine compartment. While you are waiting for them to return, you’ll have to: do your own laundry, fetch your own paper, walk to the liquor store. In other words, it is not a pretty sight.
So that’s my gripe with Country Western. They vary the harmony, the lyrics and the tempo, but the message is obvious. I yearn for a total vary of pace where I may get my ‘Satisfaction’ or ‘Light My Fire.’ But I also have troubles with Hip-Hop, Rap, and Grunge. So, let’s say I have got issues and be done with it. And, to all you Country Western lovers out there, stick with your music and do not let a basher like me vary your tune, pardoning the pun. And did I mention the two things I do like about Dolly Parton?

Music is always the part of our lives ever since the stone age.
There are many categories of instruments which make their personal sounds as well as certain pieces of junk. The stringed section allows one to make sound by using the strings like on guitars, and violins. The strings are tightened at a certain length for notes high and low. Wind instruments, such as wood and brass, make soft sounds and loud sounds with air flow and valves to control the notes. Symbols and bells of all kinds and sizes may be heard when tapped on and drums are the same way but with beating sounds. PC’s and simple objects have their personal sounds which may be used for music.
many famous names today and in history dedicated their lives for music and wrote many famous numbers that are forever remember ed in all fountains of information. As known, tribal music came 1st with primitive drums and other simple instruments. Classical was next in line with more sophisticated instruments making it loud and lively. After classical, many kinds came to existence like early rock and roll, modern rock, and hip hop. There’s reggae, jazz, rhythm and blues, barber shop style singing, and cultural music. many individuals who love music so much that they may want to make a career out of it to be famous and/or just for fun.
It keeps us entertained even if all of us feel down in the dumps. many kinds of music were invented from many cultures around the world past and present. Voices and instruments make this activity come to life in many ways.
